Following the merger between Naked Wines and Majestic, Rowan Gormley (Founder of Naked Wines and Chief Executive of the Group), has set the wheels in motion to transform the business into a different type of retailer – a retailer that is loved by customers, loved by suppliers and loved by staff and shareholders.
This transformation is brought to life by our talented team at the Support Centre, Watford, which is the home to all departments working behind the scenes such as People, Customer, IT, Transformation, Finance and Supply Chain.
Reporting to the Strategy and Performance Director, the position of Head of Business Intelligence will lead the BI team and will work across Majestic Wine and Naked Wines to produce actionable and insightful data and reports for the wider business to consume.
Produce detailed user-ready reporting for the wider business, using SQL data queries and Tableau BI software.
Work with data warehouse team to effectively specify the underlying data structure and queries to support our reporting.
Define business-wide metrics that are consistent, robust and effective.
Prioritise what information the business needs to consume in order to meet their objectives.
Liaise with business stakeholders to design reports that effectively solve their business problem, acting as a central ‘product’ team of business reporting.
Line manage and prioritise the workload of 2 junior analysts.
Own the relationship with Tableau, managing user and licences.
Act as a source of best-practice and standards for the wider Majestic Group analyst community, driving collaboration and information sharing.
Knowledge and Skills
Expert in SQL data queries. You’ll have vast experience in MySQL and PostgreSQL
Detailed understanding of Data Warehouse architecture, such as Vertica, is essential.
Expert in data presentation using Tableau. Furthermore, an advanced understanding of Looker is highly preferable.
Expert in Excel data analysis and modelling.
Previous experience in working with international markets.
Evidence of working with owner founders.
Previous experience creating predictive modelling utilising R is beneficial, but not essential.
Line management of data analyst team.
