About The Role
Diageo International Supply Centre (ISC) is built up of production and supply chain business areas within UK, Ireland, Italy and the Netherlands. Our mission is to deliver outstanding performance, growth and best cost for our 21 markets. Distilling and Maturation (D&M) is one of the business areas to supply Scotch to our customers, it has its' heart in the whisky regions of Scotland. D&M has responsibility for production of over 200 mla per annum malt and grain whisky, the associated wheat, barley and malt requirements, co-products and warehouse operations at 37 locations across Scotland.
The jobholder will be part of an integrated Technical Team, based at Cameronbridge and Leven Spirit Supply. This requires the ability to operate in both functional and cross-functional teams within D&M. The successful candidate will also provides technical input to projects and technical investigations. In this role you will be the subject matter expert in terms of fermentation and distillation processes. As part of the site team you will also be part of the on- call rota.
Purpose of the Role
To provide specialist technical process support and development capability to support all Cameronbridge and Leven Spirit Supply processes. Provision of a process technical resource, with a specific responsibility for improved process efficiency and quality. Delivery of technical projects aimed at continuous improvement and achieving a step change within the process environment. Fully examine the technical feasibility of process improvement ideas to aid decision making on technical feasibility. To ensure that the level of technical knowledge in-house is maintained at a level that will facilitate technical development of key process personnel. To maintain and support business / technical information systems to meet requirements of Grain Distilling
Qualifications and Experience Required
Degree in Chemistry, Bio-chemistry, Brewing and Distilling or a relevant scientific discipline.
Hold an IBD Diploma in distilling or willing to work towards it.
Hold the NEBOSH General Certificate or willing to work towards it.
Experience or familiarity of distilling/ brewing
Experience of change management.
Experience in managing contractors.
