About the Role

The shift team leader will provide leadership of the production teams within the canning or bottling areas at our world class manufacturing site at Runcorn.  This role will lead a team of up to 12 dedicated employees including some engineers for the area.  The role reports into the Area manager for canning or bottling and you will be flexible to cover other areas of the business during holidays. 

The purpose of the team leader is to ensure that we manufacture top quality product in a safe hygienic environment.  To ensure delivery against our production KPI targets:  H & S, Customer Service, Quality, Cost, Flexibility and People development.
As a Team Leader you will develop team members to reach their potential and to create high performing teams through coaching and facilitation skills.  The role holder will drive production performance to world class levels by continuously setting high standards and targets to deliver continuous improvements.
The Ideal Candidate

A level (or equivalent) qualifications with at least 1 year's people and production management in shift based FMCG manufacturing environment.
It is essential you have a good working knowledge of H & S and Environmental legislation and standards. You will have demonstrated the ability to manage people performance, coaching and development of a multi-disciplined team of c. 12 people.  The successful candidate will have proactive structured problem evaluation & solving skills as well as excellent communication and influencing abilities to develop & sustain robust relationships. 

Experience of working in a challenging quality & customer focused FMCG environment will be an advantage.  Basic commercial awareness, understanding of business drivers, budgeting principles will support you in being successful in this role.
SAP (or MRP systems), Planned Maintenance, Environmental and Quality systems knowledge and experience is desirable although full training will be given. 
Formal H&S qualification or willing to work towards.
