Trade Marketing Manager- Craft Gin

Our client is one of the UK’s most prominent craft gin producers, with a premium range of superb quality gins, this vibrant and unique business continues to grow at a rapid pace in the drinks market. As a result of this continued growth, they require an established Trade Marketing Manager to work closely with Sales teams to optimise promotional plans, sales tools, trade events, customer partnerships and the overall commercial success of the business while maintaining the company ethos of exceptional craft, quality and authenticity.

Role & Responsibilities
• Key contact within sales & marketing team for all customer marketing stakeholders – both internal and external
• Develop and implement trade marketing plan across our customers in line with the overall marketing plan of the business to include:
o Build, manage and report on trade marketing budget
o Management, implementation and review of trade marketing calendar across trade customers, ensuring all specific needs are addressed and fit with overall brand strategy
o In conjunction with the Sales Director, management of promotional strategy within customer accounts, including on-going reporting on this
o Support the sales team to optimize promotional plans by providing insight and information to negotiate the strongest mechanics, optimum timing and gain additional features
o Ensure range is well presented and appropriate to each channel/customer in accordance with our channel strategy
o Align in store, in-bar and channel strategy to ensure activity supports brand marketing campaigns and any planned product launches
• Provide the sales team with a toolkit of sales support items to sell products successfully in line with our drinks strategy e.g. presentations, product information, and sales aids
• Responsible for the management of all trade shows and development of a trade stand in line with the brand guidelines
• Develop a comprehensive understanding of our key competitors and collect and share ongoing reports on competitor activity across channels to influence our strategy at local, national and international level
• Working closely with our Distillery Tours team to support the development of a bespoke education plans to meet the needs of the customer and their educational needs
• Manage, develop and coach junior members of marketing team

Skills & Knowledge:
• Demonstrable experience of trade marketing in drinks or FMCG consumer brands (preferably spirits brands)
• Good understanding of the UK spirits sector and premium product marketing an advantage, along with exposure to on-trade marketing
• Experience of Market, competitor & consumer insight, pricing & promotions, commercial reporting, Nielsen data analysis and analytical skills
• Evidence of bringing to market initiatives and working with brand teams and creative agencies
• University degree or equivalent
• Numerical and financial skills for budget analysis
• Outstanding written and verbal communication skills and presentation skills
• Willingness to travel and potentially work some weekends at events
