Job Description:

Scope:

Lead Brown-Forman efforts in the United Kingdom and Ireland to maintain the best operating

environment possible for our business through external engagement, corporate social

responsibility, and effective external communication.

1. Corporate Affairs:

o Monitor regulatory and political environment in the UK and Ireland, identify potential threats to B-F's business as well as opportunities for improving the regulatory environment. In the near term, particular focus on Brexit and the Irish Public Health (Alcohol) Bill will be required.

o With respect to industry associations (IAs) based in the UK and Ireland (These include but are not limited to: Alcohol Information Partnership (AIP), International Alliance for Responsible Drinking (IARD), the Scotch Whisky Association (SWA), the Wine & Spirits Trade Association (WSTA), and the Irish Spirits and Irish Whiskey Associations (ISA & IWA, respectively)).

- Support the UK GM, the UK Leadership Team, and the Distillery and Visitor Center teams at Slane in their participation in industry associations

- Represent B-F on government relations and policy committees, engage with CCA reps from other companies to improve IA operations, strategy, and preparation for the future

o Develop and maintain appropriate relationships with relevant regulators and with

legislators representing B-F facilities and employees in the UK and Ireland

o Lead selection and management of public affairs consultants, if needed

o Keep managers regularly informed

2. Alcohol Responsibility:

o Co-sponsor UK Responsibility committee

o Working with the UK LT, ensure B-F's commitment to promoting moderation and

intelligent drinking, selling, and hosting is reflected in brand, country, and

promotional plans and in discussions with key customers and partners

o Provide advice and support to team at Slane relative to their community

involvement and promotion of moderation

3. External Communications:

o Coordinate with HQ Corporate Communications as needed

o Support GM and UK LT in preparation for external interviews

4. Subject matter expert for Europe:

o Act as lead subject matter expert for Europe on two to three subject areas (e.g.

trade) to be determined in collaboration with other members of the Europe

Communications and Corporate Affairs team

Must Experience:

- University degree in government/politics, communications or related field

- Extensive experience in either communications or corporate affairs

Preferred Experience:

- Experience in alcohol or other highly regulated industry will be strongly preferred

- Media relations experience

- Experience in working in an international environment

- Experience in a matrix organizational structure

- Experience in the FMCG industry

- Social media knowledge

- Project development & planning

- Fluency in a European language other than English

Skills:

- Strong capacities of written and oral communication

- Fluent English
