Lanique Spirit of Rose
Lanique has a fascinating history dating back to the 1700’s when it was first crafted in south Poland during the Prussian Empire. Since then, people have been enjoying our truly unique spirit at parties, society events and celebrations all over the world! Each bottle of Lanique contains thousands of the finest eastern rose petals, that by weight, are more valuable than gold. We then steam-distil our rose petals with grain spirit and two types of sugar in a slow, multi-part process to ensure the delicate flavours and aromas are not only preserved but enhanced.

The value of rose goes further though. To many, roses are the most significant flower in the world; muse to artists from Monet to Banksy, a symbol of belonging to religions, countries, cities, states, provinces, armies, sports teams and political parties. Rose represent sociability, resilience, sharpness and beauty.

We distil this unique and powerful essence into every drop of our spirit. Both our liquid, and our attitude. Lanique represents everything the rose symbolises and offers its drinkers that spirit too. Relaunched with great success in the UK four years, Lanique is now stocked by nearly all national wholesalers and as a result, has had great success in securing premium, on-trade cocktail bar listings across the UK, as well as featuring in a number of national on-trade chains. We’re now looking for a brilliant person who really understands our values and ambitions as a company and who has the ambition and ability to help our company blossom.

Key Responsibilities

Support Existing Accounts
You’ll be our key person on the ground to build and develop relationships with our accounts and, in time, you’ll take full management of key accounts. This means plenty of time in bars working and networking with business owners, managers and cocktail gurus to ensure Lanique is being used in the best possible way. You’ll also need to think about how we can support bars to ensure strong sales growth.

Sampling / Tastings / Lanique Education
The role requires a confident speaker who is passionate about Lanique and able to transfer this energy, love and enthusiasm to bartenders during tasting sessions and consumers during off-trade/marketing events. You’ll seek out these opportunities and get as many booked in as possible with existing and prospective customers.

Customer Relationship Management (CRM)
We’re looking for someone who’s a master of logging information and ‘keeping on top of things’. We need to know where we are and what’s in the pipeline, as well as who the key contact is at the bars we work with. If you’re not familiar with this process or using software to log things, don’t worry – it’s a boring afternoon of learning but, importantly, a key skill to being successful in business development!

Secure new on-trade accounts, with a focus on independents and small, independent chains
Using a systematic, strategic approach to developing new business with on-trade accounts, you’ll be tasked with getting new Lanique cocktail listings across the UK, with the opportunity to travel in the UK to explore new cities and their amazing Cocktail scenes!
This will require good knowledge of the on-trade sector and a natural talent of identifying new business opportunities. Ideally, the candidate will be familiar with London or the North West and the on-trade scene and have some contacts and friends in the industry to help open doors.

Route to Market
We’re looking to work more closely with the wholesalers that stock us to ensure they love Lanique as much as we do! The role will require you to be in close contact with sales teams; booking in regular tasting sessions and meetings, thinking about new incentives and being the key contact from Lanique for them to touch base with.

Personal requirements: Spirt of Rose
Our ideal candidate is someone who is willing to embrace working for a start-up company and everything that entails; from hitting the streets developing new opportunities, to creating new Lanique serves, to mucking in at an event and (importantly) being available to celebrate success as a team!

They must have a structured and professional approach to developing new business leads – we love organised people who are on it. An understanding of how to support accounts and experience of developing initiatives to support vertical sales growth is key to this role.

Experience & Skills
▪ (Essential) Fantastic and applicable sales experience, with 1 - 2 years in the drinks industry minimum
▪ (Essential) An existing network within the on-trade
▪ (Desirable) An understanding of how on-trade and drinks wholesalers work in the UK
▪ Squeaky clean driving license and, ideally, access to your own car
▪ Good IT skills
