Malt Distilling has responsibility for production of c.120 mla per annum of malt whisky, associated barley requirements, co-products and warehouse operations.
Malt Distilling covers over 30 sites across Scotland.

 
About the Role

The Mechanical Compliance co-ordinator will be based at Moray House Elgin reporting to the Malt Distilling Asset Care Manager.

The aim is to ensure all sites meet mechanical safety requirements and are compliant in accordance with current legislation and Diageo Risk Management standards. The role covers all sites within Malt Distilling so some travel for work will be expected.

The role is to support sites and ensure compliance in the following areas:-
- Boiler and ancillary equipment safety
- Statutory inspections, including but not limited to; boilers, PSSR associated systems, lifting equipment, FLT's, racking, LEV
- Functional Safety
- DSEAR and hazardous area inspections
- Machinery safety (PUWER)
- Contractor service quality and compliance
 

The role holder will provide solutions to comply with mechanical legislation and ensure that sites can demonstrate and maintain compliance.

You will ensure essential safety related maintenance is undertaken and delivered for all mechanically biased systems across all Malt Distilling sites in accordance with compliance recommendations and assist in providing standardised engineering strategies and mechanical expertise in relation to functional safety.
 
The Ideal Candidate
Qualifications:
 
Degree level in Mechanical & Process Control Engineering or similar with minimum of 3 years relevant experience.
Or
HNC level in Mechanical & Process Control Engineering or similar with at least 3 to 5 years of related experience.
 
Health and Safety qualification (NEBOSH)
Audit qualification or experience preferred
Full UK clean driving licence
 
Experience:
 
Firm understanding of Legal requirements such as Boiler Safety, COMAH, PUWER, Machinery Safety, Functional Safety(SIL), DSEAR, PUWER and hazardous area working.
