Building Britain's Best Pub Company
This might just be the coolest role in our SP&B business!
Our Star Pubs business has been through a significant growth period with the recent addition of 1,900 pubs to our Star Pubs & Bars estate, taking us up to 3000 sites in total (that's more sites than Costa coffee shops)
Right now, an opportunity has arisen for an Investment Manager to join the SP&B Property team. This isn't an investment management role in the financial sense! We're looking for talented leaders who manage complex projects and achieve results through collaboration with a number of different stakeholders.
Just like refreshing a tired retail outlet or taking a business through a significant change programme, our transformational CAPEX programmes require strong organisational skills, an ability to influence and a commercial astuteness given the budget you'll have creating great pubs.
This role is critical to our business, as you prioritise projects and ensure that each pub within your remit has a sustainable plan to optimise its commercial potential - a plan that includes the wants and needs of our licensees at heart. Your experience in managing multiple projects at a time will allow you to plan your schedule, finding time to guide each project through the refit/redevelopment process, collaborating with many different parties both internally and externally to deliver it through to end state.
Alongside that project management role, you will be supporting our business growth through identification and acquisition of new pubs - let's face it, can be a lot of fun!
"The IM role offers me the opportunity to be both creative and commercial in equal measure. We are encouraged to be ambitious and bold when creating the future vision of our pubs, to be analytical when compiling budgets and ROIs, and to be sales orientated in the execution of the plan - this role offers the best of all jobs! And the best part is doing it in such a fun and people focussed industry " Mel, Investment Manager
What kind of background are we looking for?
Proven project management experience that can be transferred into the realm of refurbishment.
Experience in the art of negotiation, a relationship builder, modelling of commercial scenarios (SWOT), involvement in CAPEX and, most importantly, you will have an ability to achieve objectives through motivating and inspiring others.
We will expect a lot from you, but we think you're the kind of person who will expect a lot from yourself - of course we need to make it worth your while! On top of your base and bonus we offer flexible working hours, Bupa for you, 35 days annual holiday, double matched pension up to 10% and that monthly slab of our delicious ciders and beers so you can stock up your fridge or save up for those great social occasions.
If this sounds like a journey you'd like to join, we'd love to hear from you.
We are passionate about improving Great British Pubs, so instead of a standard covering letter, please simply tell us (in a short summary!) about the last time you've been delighted by a pub, restaurant or shop that had a facelift along with the reasons why you are interested in this role.
Please note we will be hosting our Assessment day in Birmingham on Thursday August 16th so please tentatively block off your diary now.
Closing date Sunday July 22nd
