Purpose:
- The Analyst, Commercial Insights role exists to generate insights from the analysis of industry data in order to support, provoke, and influence the Diageo executive TBA agenda
- Utilize and analyze commercial data for Diageo, key competitors, and overall industry to prepare the NA Exec for all major meetings to inform business decisions and positively impact performance

- Prepare NA Exec, Global and Investor Relation/Corporate Communications for any external communications relating to commercial third party data

- Support the broader organization with ad hoc internal and third party data and insights (including, but not limited to Brand Marketing, Customer Marketing, National Accounts, NABCA, Central Finance, On-premise strategy, Category Finance, DC&E, and Ventures)

Functional Skills:
- High level of proficiency in Excel - pivot tables, formulas, efficient formatting & graphing capabilities

- High level of proficiency in PowerPoint creating simple and effective visual communication of data and insights

- Ability to organize, format, mine and manipulate large data sets to decipher the most meaningful and impactful insights

- Strong business math skills
Systems and Data:
- Understand and leverage internal data - including but not limited to SDI/Accounts Sold depletions and distribution, shipments and financial measurements

- Proficient in working in and pulling data from the Micro Strategy/ Visibility Analytics platform - including SDI, Accounts Sold, NABCA Green Book projects

- Experience working with Nielsen data and pulling data from the Nitro platform

- Familiarity with other 3rd party data providers including Beverage Information Group/Adams, display audit and DISCUS
Proven Experience:
- Self-starter with the ability to work independently and take ownership of various parts of the project

- Aptitude to handle multiple tasks and changing priorities

- Ability to work cross functionally in the organization and with data vendors including the Nielsen on-site team

- Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills

- Quickly grasp and master new requirements and related knowledge

- Willingness to ask questions, challenge the process and seek out answers
