- Responsible for ensuring that product costing and inventory related transactions are recorded and materially correct in order to reflect accurate financial statements

- Responsible for cost accounting, variance analysis, reporting, internal controls, analyzing variances, developing an action plans, and communicating with Operations Management.

- Responsible for development and maintenance of product cost development.

- Coordinate with plant operations personnel and the product development team to develop new product standards from commercialization through production startup.

- Must manage detailed SKU costing for Annual Standard Costing/Budgeting Process.

- Responsible for appraising operations financial performance, key projects / initiatives and managing the budgeting and forecasting process of Plant Operations. Also, ensures compliance with all Corporate Policies and regulatory statutes as well as maintaining a tight internal control environment.

- Responsible for Excise Tax and State Beverage Reporting.

- Assist the Plant Controller with financial closings, financial statement analysis, and financial reporting requirements.

- Assist the Plant Controller with tax and audit requests as needed.

- Back up to SRM Champion.

Key accountabilities and responsibilities

- Prepares standard cost reporting files in accordance with Bacardi Limited guidelines

- Product Costing and Inventory Control:

- Actively participate and help drive the annual company long term strategic plans and ensure translation into annual financial plans and investments targets

- Work proactively with Share Services to improve transactional processes for LDC.

- Must analyze situations to make recommendations as well as modify procedures to solve problems. Implement processes and procedures to improve financial controls.

- Develops meaningful measurements for internal business analysis and presents results to management.

- Assist with budget development, financial reporting and systems management, while driving business processes to improve efficiency and meet organization goals.

- Takes all necessary steps to remedy problems after its proper identification has been completed.

- Explanation and reporting of monthly variances to Plan and lead projects to improve business processes to reduce waste and accurately report product costing

- Follows up on implementation of Operations Finance recommended improvements.

- Represents financial interests and concerns on special assignments. Monitors project progress and results to determine procedures needed to meet ultimate objective.

- Must analyze situations to make recommendations as well as modify procedures to solve problems.

- Maintains costing files in SAP and updates items using cost simulation and roll ups

- Ensure adequate internal controls are maintained to safeguard inventory and equipment, provide accurate financial records, and achieve standards consistent with Sarbanes Oxley 404 requirements.

- Develops and updates product bill of materials using confidential formulas and measurement conversions

- Performs monthly analysis of standard costs to ensure general ledger is materially correct and provides documentation when differences are found

- Reviews and analyzes processing and production work orders on a daily basis and works with Procurement & Processing on variance analysis

- Reconciles finished goods, materials, ingredients and spare parts inventory to general ledger on a monthly basis

- Provides support to Procurement, Processing, Production and Shipping Departments relating to costing and inventory issues

- Reviews and accounts for miscellaneous withdrawals of inventory items

- Prepare various internal and external financial reports on a weekly, monthly, and annual basis. Manage SAP Budgeting and Product Cost Development for Annual Budget Plan as well as new products and feasibility studies.

- Deliver insight related to product cost changes. Prepare Various Analysis and Cause of Change detail, and work with Cost Center Managers and Production Management to drive business results to meet targeted objectives.

- Assist in the development and implementation of goals, policies, priorities and procedures relating to financial management, budget, cost accounting, and inventory control. Implement processes and procedures to improve financial controls.

- Continuously seeks to streamline department's processes and looks for ways of improving efficiencies; eliminate non-value added work.

- Ensure adequate internal controls are maintained to safeguard inventory and equipment, provide accurate financial records, and achieve standards consistent with Sarbanes Oxley 404 requirements.

- Ensures compliance and timely submission with all State and Federal Reporting (Backup to Operations Controller)

- Noncompliance and/or reporting of inaccurate information could result in penalties/fines being assessed against the Company

General Accounting:

- Analysis of all inventory, sales, cost of sales, variance, excise tax and production expense general ledger accounts

- Prepares journal entries as necessary

- Calculation of liquid losses and material losses for monthly KPI reporting

- Calculates inter-company billings related to used barrel sales and other various product related charges

- Analysis of bulk transfer price changes

- Performs other related duties as assigned or necessary

EDUCATION:

- Bachelor's Degree with concentration in Finance or Accounting

MINIMUM EXPERIENCE:

- Minimum of 5 - 10 years of cost accounting and financial analysis experience in a manufacturing environment that utilized SAP. Heavy Cost Accounting or SAP Master Data experience preferred.

- Strong documentation, organizational and follow-up skills.
