Guinness St James Gate, 'home of the black stuff' is searching for apprentices with a passion and appetite to build a career in manufacturing and supply chain. Our apprenticeships are a desired place to start a career and be part of a growing and exciting organisation.
You'll need to be highly practical, a great problem solver and interested in how things move and work. In addition you will be an enthusiastic learner willing to grow and develop throughout a 4 year Apprenticeship and have a desire to take on more responsibility as your career develops. Not only will you successfully manage to gain valuable work experience, but you'll also learn practical skills and theory at a local college and achieve industry standard qualifications. In turn you will progress to become 'Time Served' and possibly continue with a long and prosperous career in a global innovative organisation.
We're looking for apprentices who not only have the capability to succeed in our organisation today but also have the potential to be our leaders of tomorrow. We're looking for someone who is committed to the role/Diageo from day one as you will be assisting the engineering department with daily duties to ensure the maintenance of the process plant and allow production programmes to be completed as scheduled.
In order to do this, we are looking for candidates with the ability to become a competent an Electrical Craftsperson. We are looking for someone to demonstrate an understanding of the site processes and will work towards gaining an Electrical Engineering qualification as issued by SOLAS. Whilst working for Diageo you will be required to always adhere to Diageo H&S & Compliance Policies and uphold Diageo's Vision and Values.
QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS REQUIRED
You must have obtained the following...
- Completed Leaving Certificate or equivalent. Minimum 5 D Grades (to include Maths and English)
- Demonstrate a genuine interest, passion and aptitude for electrical engineering
- Demonstrate excellent interpersonal and communication skills
- Positive and flexible attitude combined with the ability to extend skillset beyond a single discipline
- Ability to demonstrate strong work ethos both individually and as part of a team
- General computer system knowledge - Microsoft packages such as Excel, Word, PowerPoint
