Pickering’s Gin was started in 2013 by our founders Marcus Pickering and Matt Gammell, with the vision to open the first gin distillery in Edinburgh in 150 years. Since then we have become a strong team of seventeen, all focused on the mission of distilling, bottling, finishing, distributing and marketing gin all from the old dog kennels in Summerhall, Edinburgh.
Due to triple digit growth in the first three years of trading, Pickering’s Gin is now looking to add an experienced business development executive to their talented and hugely motivated team. In that time, we have proved that nothing is impossible; we are looking for someone that embodies this mentality with a positive attitude and excellent work ethic.
Reporting directly to the Sales Manager, this role identifies business opportunities to sell our products by establishing contact, recommending solutions and developing relationships with prospects. Maintaining relationships with clients by providing support, information, and guidance; researching and recommending new opportunities; recommending profit and service improvements within the on and off trade in Scotland.
Working with the wider sales team, the successful candidate will develop new business accounts and grow existing business in both the on and off trade. The successful candidate will possess a desire and drive to sell, through relationship selling and skills honed working in a similar position for a wholesaler or brand in the drinks industry.
The candidate will be confident, an excellent communicator with a positive, determined demeanour and a drive to succeed. They will be highly motivated by targets and have a self-reliant approach to problem solving. Working to KPIs and targets set by the General and Sales Managers, the successful candidate will be highly capable of flourishing in an exciting, fast paced and competitive environment.
