As our UK team continues to grow, we are introducing the role of Commercial Manager (online retail channel) into our existing team, reporting to the UK Business Unit Managing Director. This role will be a stand-alone position that will have full UK sales and UK P&L accountability for our online retail channel for our Ian Macleod Distillers’ portfolio. Working closely with the wider UK team, this role will assist with the development of our IMD business and brands effectively initiating and implementing trade and consumer programmes that support UK brand strategy. The role will work closely with a number of key online retailers and throughout the supply chain, to increase distribution, throughput and visibility of our brands. There will be significant partnership working with the national account team to advise on appropriate online strategies. There will also be a focus on leading the development of the commercial sales activity through our company’s branded product web sites in direct partnership with the wider brand team members. Key successes in this role will be to proactively contribute to and drive the evolution of the UK market strategy, constantly recommending and driving through ideas on how performance can be improved. There will also be a requirement to maintain organised customer and activity records and to continually update UK Sales and Marketing teams on the latest trends/activity/opportunities in the online retail space.
We are therefore looking for someone who has significant experience in a similar role and someone who can maintain effective and regular contact strategies with all customers and key contacts within the trade (including key buyers). Negotiations of increased listings, distribution, visibility, gift packs and throughput of brands will be key in terms of effective management of the supply chain and of display and merchandising/ POS placement. There will be a requirement for the role holder to maintain contact with the central brand marketing team members to ensure full understanding of all IMD products in terms of individual brand strategies with a significant focus on key online retail accounts (volume and niche online retailers)
This is quite a unique and wide reaching role, which will challenge and stretch the role holder. We are therefore only looking for the best, and will be searching for someone who can deliver and surpass our expectations in these regards. You will need to be highly experienced with strong and clear previous experiences of delivering the above in a similar capacity – we will therefore be asking you to demonstrate how you have delivered and achieved your successes in the online retail space previously! We are expecting you to come armed with a full professional tool box filled to the brim with high quality skills and experiences which will be your personal unique tools of the trade. Some additional qualities we are looking for therefore will include
● Significant experience in commercial activities within the online retail space
