Purpose: The Brand Protection Manager will assist in handling the day-to-day activities involved in fighting counterfeiting of our spirits products globally. Examples of those functions are as follows:

- Coordinate all internal functions involving anti-counterfeiting efforts, e.g., lab analysis, packaging technologies, government affairs, public affairs, risk management, etc.

- Maintain database tracking counterfeit case/incident information and seizure statistics

- Analyze trends and make strategic recommendations based on the above data

- Prepare reports and summaries

- Liaise with Customs and law enforcement agencies to provide training and support together with industry anti-counterfeiting organizations

- Work with enforcement authorities to assist with the identification and seizure of counterfeit goods and related information

- Act as operational contact for industry organizations as applicable and attend industry meetings and events as requested

- Hire, direct, and manage field investigative assets in cases not handled by industry organizations

- Conduct and participate in anti-corruption training for investigative assets

- Work with authorities and attorneys to prepare witness statements and provide evidence to authenticate goods, confirm ownership and breadth of IP rights


- Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience

- Minimum seven years of experience in anti-counterfeiting enforcement and/or in-house brand security. Specifically, must have experience handling the duties described below in a corporate brand security department or IP units at customs or other law enforcement agencies.

- Awareness of the U.S. Foreign Corrupt Practices Act and other anti-corruption regulations such as the UK Bribery Act

- Willingness to travel internationally (up to 50% of the time - often on short notice) where trips may run as long as two weeks

- Experience traveling and working in third world countries

- Demonstrated ability to write well, make firm, well thought-out recommendations and to accept responsibility

- Fluency with: MS Office products (including Word, PowerPoint, Excel and Access), basic digital photography and forensics

Preferred Requirements:

- Understanding of IP and legal issues

- Experience managing in a team environment and the risks and potential crisis resulting from negative media coverage

- Working knowledge of distilled spirits or other consumable products, especially in non-U.S. markets
