About the role

The Global Costing Senior Manager is responsible for defining business processes for product costing, manufacturing cost accounting and performance tracking with the aim to drive operational excellence. The role is responsible for directing global standard cost calculation and management for all products across all Bacardi group companies.

This role will support Global FP&A Director and Global Operations Leadership team looking for opportunities to drive cost benefits through insights, benchmarking and process leadership. Reporting to this role are a team of the inventory and product costing experts based in Global Business Service centre in Costa Rica (functional reporting line).

Importantly, we expect to transition our current costing process from legacy SAP and proprietary Oracle STC tool environment to an integrated solution within the new generation SAP S4 system. This will require strong knowledge, leadership and initiative to review the cost management and accounting processes working with IT and supply chain functional experts.

You will partner with Global Operations finance teams and supply chain planning & management teams to ensure integrated approach in driving operational and financial performance metrics. In doing so will be driving key decisions that will significantly affect the effectiveness and financial performance of Global Operations.

Global Operations, with a cost base of $1.3B, is split in 5 Operations Centres (OC) covering 21 plants in 8 countries, 30+ co-packers, 80+ distribution centres serving more than 150 markets worldwide. Your ability to handle broad range of Manufacturing & Logistics topics across 5 OCs will be key, as will be your leadership, communication and influencing skills.

In this role, depending on business priorities, you will likely often find yourself in your office, but can expect to travel to visit regional teams and operations.

Key accountabilities and responsibilities

Define product costing process within Bacardi

- Define / document / implement / support / continuously improve:

- Standard cost calculation process for Bacardi in SAP for both production and purchase scenarios

- Process for new material creation in SAP operation system and STC system (for the part under product costing responsibility)

- Process for period end closing in SAP and STC product costing areas

- Variance to standard posting / capitalization / reporting process in SAP and Cognos TM1 / Controller

- Supervise process executed in STC covering quarterly updates, preliminary budget and budget processes

- Supervise prrocess for cost structure updates in STC (Bacardi tailored system) based on standards calculated in SAP or outside SAP to report consolidated standard costs for all products and all markets

- Support new entities and new business scenarios implementation in the SAP product costing area

- Provide support for initiatives with potential impact on product costing process

- Lead continuous process and tool improvements in the product costing area

Drive results and excellence in execution

- Direct yearly standards setting and calculation process covering both SAP and STC systems

- Define expectations (process and performance)

- Coordinate with local entities, shared service team and Global functions

- Supervise global validation and checks to ensure high quality output and make sure cost impacts are well understood and in line with expectations

- Continuously improve planning, reporting and performance management process in the cost of sales area

- Leverage central costing team and standard processes to drive benchmarking, insights and cost optimization

- Oversee framework for the end user support and training in execution of SAP / STC product costing activities

- Drive continuous improvements in the closing process managed under STC to support consolidation process in Cognos TM1 / Controller. This includes actual volume and inventory quantity load to STC, data consistency checks, STC closing process & closing checks, reconciliation of cost of sales and Inventory values between STC and Cognos TM1 / Controller. Organize / coordinate with local entities and shared service team.

- Oversee shared service team to organize / coordinate central management and maintenance of STC

- Supervise checks done on quality on material master data using DACORE reporting tool

- Supervise cost of sales estimate process for the New Product Development process

- Develop talent and capability

- Develop and mentor direct reports, providing leadership and continuous coaching in order to ensure high performance behaviour and results

- Provide leadership, training, support for the shared service team in Costa Rica in order to ensure high performance behaviour and results

Critical experiences for success


- 12+ years of financial management experience in consumer goods industry covering field and

- corporate assignments, working in multi-market and multi-cultural environments, including roles in manufacturing and logistics finance areas. Experience in Spirits and/or Beverage industry is an advantage.

- Likely to have plant/cost controlling experience plus experience in SAP product costing implementation

- Systems, process and performance management improvement oriented (looking for integrated solutions)

- Preferred: SAP CO PC expert with experience in plant controlling, SAP CO PC implementations and support


- Bachelor's or higher degree in finance & accounting (or related area); OR other university degree specialization accompanied with professional accounting qualification


- Fluent English (written and verbal); French and other languages an asset
